Big part of the rebranding focused on introducing two new typefaces, Mari Slab and Mari Sans, created in collaboration with Schick Toikka. These were inspired by Marimekko's existing Olivetti typewriter logo, marrying tradition with a more current aesthetic. A modular layout system was also developed by TSTO, enhancing flexibility and ensuring brand consistency across various media.
Additionally, TSTO devised tools and guidelines to facilitate the uniform application of Marimekko's refreshed identity. This strategic approach underscores a commitment to maintaining the brand's distinctive appeal through its use of vivid colors and unique prints, while making it more accessible to today's audience.
